The South Coast Vizsla Club, Inc. was founded in 1976, and received recognition as an AKC Sanctioned Breed Club in 1978. The SCVC offers Breed Education, Specialty Events, Agility and Obedience/Rally Trials, Hunt Tests, Field Trials, and Breed Rescue.
The SCVC Vizsla Rescue for the Southern California Region is endorsed by the Vizsla Club of America and receives 501(c)(3) non profit status from our VCA affiliation, and cooperation with the Vizsla Welfare Foundation. Our organization’s funding comes through individual donations, adoption donations, and participation in local fund raising events. The goal of breed rescue is to re-home Vizslas in need to loving families and provide rehabilitation and foster care for abandoned or abused Vizslas. We also provide breed education and encourage responsible dog ownership; promoting spay/neuter for all companion animals. The Rescue Coordinator and rescue Volunteers adhere to the SCVC Rescue Code of Ethics*.
We presently work with Rescue Coordinators and Volunteers at the Vizsla Club of Northern CA, Lone Cypress Vizsla Club of the Monterey Peninsula and Vizsla Club of Southern CA.
